↗ Cloud Migration Consulting · Penang, Malaysia

A considered path
through unfamiliar
cloud terrain.

Organisations considering their first material cloud move — or weighing a more distributed architecture — need counsel that names the risks plainly. Mentari Consult works alongside your team to map workloads, surface dependencies, and sequence a migration that fits your actual conditions.

◈ Why Mentari Consult

What distinguishes a careful advisor from a busy one.

Terrain-first thinking

We spend the first portion of any engagement understanding your actual estate — not applying a standard template. Every recommendation emerges from what we find, not what we assumed.

Written deliverables you can use

Every engagement ends with a document your team can read, reference and hand to a procurement committee. We do not deliver slide decks full of vendor logos and no analysis.

Vendor-neutral counsel

Mentari Consult holds no reseller arrangements with any cloud provider. When we compare AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, the comparison is made on your criteria, not on margin.

Malaysian regulatory awareness

Our work addresses data residency, PDPA obligations and sector-specific guidance relevant to organisations operating under Malaysian law. Sovereignty matters are named, not glossed over.

Whole-team facilitation

Cloud decisions rarely belong to one function. Our workshops are structured so that platform, security, finance and business ownership reach a shared view — not a technically correct one that nobody else endorses.

Fixed scope, transparent fees

Each engagement has a named scope and a published fee in ringgit. There are no retainers that expand quietly, and no follow-on work is assumed unless you choose to commission it.

◈ Next Step

Would a short initial conversation be useful?

Many organisations find it helpful to spend thirty minutes describing their current estate to someone who can ask the right questions. There is no obligation attached to that call.

◈ Common Questions

Questions we are asked before an engagement begins.

Where do I begin if I have no cloud strategy at all?
The Cloud Readiness Conversation is designed for exactly this position. It does not assume you have existing cloud accounts or a migration plan — it begins with an inventory of what you currently operate and works forward from there. The output names what is ready to move, what is not, and what requires further consideration before any decisions are made.
How long does a typical engagement take from first contact?
We typically schedule an initial call within a week of your enquiry. The Cloud Readiness Conversation runs over two weeks. The Multi-Cloud Architecture Advisory varies by the complexity of your estate but ordinarily completes in four to six weeks. The Migration Path Workshop is scheduled as a block of three consecutive working days, with written outputs delivered within one week of the final session.
Do you recommend a specific cloud provider?
We hold no referral or reseller arrangements with any provider. Our advisory note in the Multi-Cloud engagement does include a recommendation, but it is derived from your stated criteria — cost, sovereignty, talent availability, technical fit — and documented so you can examine the reasoning. Where there is a genuinely close call between two providers, we say so rather than forcing a conclusion.
What happens to the information we share during the engagement?
All information shared with Mentari Consult during an engagement is treated as confidential. We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before any substantive discovery work begins. Documents, architectural diagrams and notes produced during the engagement are yours; we retain no proprietary claim to the outputs we help create.
What size of organisation do you typically work with?
Most of our clients have between fifty and five hundred staff and operate legacy on-premise systems they are beginning to reconsider. We have also worked with smaller organisations that have outgrown their initial hosting arrangements. The principal variable is not headcount but the complexity of the estate and the appetite of the leadership team to work through that complexity carefully.
Is there a commitment required after the initial engagement?
Each engagement is contracted independently. There is no ongoing retainer assumed unless you specifically request one. Organisations sometimes commission a second engagement after reviewing the outputs of the first — that is a decision made at the time, not built into the original agreement.
